I.C.T Industry Is A Leading Jobs Creator In 2015
The end of the year is a good time to check for trends in the South African in 2015 which gives an indication of what to expect in the coming year. The South African economy is undergoing a major transformation at a rapid pace, mainly driven by technology as well as the demise old industries like mining and emergence of new industries in the services sector.
The CareerJunction Index (CJI) is fast becoming the leading source of job and employment trends in South. The I.T sector in 2015 tops the top 5 job creating industries in 2015, as the industry in terms of vacancies grew by 30% in 2015, compared the previous year.
While the Finance and Mining industries have recorded a general decline, a quarter-on-quarter comparison of demand across all sectors revealed a significant increase in IT and Telecoms vacancies during the second and third quarters of 2015 and Medical vacancies since January.
The IT and Telecoms sectors continue to show promising growth. Since January, vacancy levels have increase by 30% and 31% respectively.
