Now, I must admit that this is my blog post centered on a Microsoft smartphone product and I also need to disclose that up to now have not been the biggest
Nokia Microsoft Lumia smartphone products fan. However after coming across this phone . . .I’m totally blown away!
The potential of Microsoft’s purchase of the Nokia mobile phone business in 2014 has always been understated by many critics, however Microsoft’s Windows everywhere initiative seems to be gaining momentum especially among professionals who rely on Microsoft technology in their organizations. The launch of the long-awaited Lumia 950 and 950XL products, loaded with features and yet come at an affordable price re-inforces Microsoft’s commitment to becoming a serious force in the global smartphone market.
As described by Microsoft, the Lumia 950 XL has the best camera Microsoft has ever created. The devices comes with a 20MP camera that automatically reduces motion blur for a sharper shot every time. For the Lumia 950XL, Microsoft’s chosen the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and equipped it with the same amount of RAM and internal storage space. The removable battery’s capacity has increased to 3340mAh. The screen size has also been increased to 5.7-inches, and although it has the same 1440p resolution, it’s covered in Gorilla Glass 4, rather than Gorilla Glass 3 on the Lumia 950. The device is slightly heavier at 165 grams, and a little slimmer at 8.1mm. A quick run down of the technical specs is as follows:
- F/1.9 aperture
- 1/2.4-inch sensor
- 1.12-micron pixel size
- ISO up to 12800
- Zeiss optics
- 5th generation Optical Image Stabilization
- Triple LED natural flash
- 4K video recording
- Rich Capture automatically chooses the best camera mode
- Completely new color processing algorithm
- Seems faster
