A New Era Of.NET Cross Platform Development Now Here
Microsoft today announced that Visual Studio 2015 (VS 2015), the latest version of Microsoft’s premium software development IDE integrated development environment, will launch on July 20 2015.
Visual Studio 2015 is a big release. This latest Visual Studio edition will help developers build end-to-end solutions for open-source projects using the newest tools and technologies as well as .NET based solutions. New features in VS 2015 include support for extensions, new diagnostic and debugging tools, an emulator for Android developers, built-in support for Application Insightsand various user interface and performance tweaks.
As Microsoft announced in March, Visual Studio will come in two subscription flavors: Enterprise and Pro (that’s down from three different editions in previous versions). The company will also offer a standalone, non-subscription version of Visual Studio Professional for $499. Microsoft will also offer a free Community edition of VS 2015 for open source projects, academic research, education and small teams.
Visual Studio 2015 release comes right before Windows 10’s release on July 29. Visual Studio 2015 is Microsoft’s first major step to wooing developers over to its tools and platforms. Visual 2015 is really earmarked to be a game-changer
