The world around you is not what it seems

Our future is at stake and you must choose a side! This is not the plot of a Sci-Fi movie or best seller. This is Life. There is a world around you that you cannot see.

Ingress.  The game.

It’s happening all around you. They aren’t coming. They’re already here.

All around you is a substance called XM. You cannot see it but technology has given us the upper hand. With the aid of your Cell phone and GPS, you are able to identify the sources of this XM. These are known as portals. Portals, when grouped in threes, are incredibly powerful. By combining the power of the three, you can control or resist.

It is a known fact that people are no longer evolving. We have reached the apex of what nature can do for us. It is now up to us. With the use of this XM, we are able to harness its amazing power. It will give us abilities beyond our expectations. It is our role to take control of this power and use it to improve humanity. Sadly there are those that feel that this XM is harmful to us and they seek to protect us from its effects. They are known as the Resistance. They have decided what is best for humanity and are determined to protect all the earth’s inhabitants from the effects. The Enlightened believe that they are wrong. We must learn to master and embrace the XM so that we can benefit from the effects.

I am Enlightened. I am DTribble.

Yes this is a game. It is a cell phone game that makes use of Geo-caching. Do you find yourself playing MMOs and wishing you could meet the people you play with? Well this game gives you that opportunity. Though you can play it as a solitary player, it is really a social game. A social game for geeks, nerds and technophiles. We have communities on G+, Hangouts, WhatsApp… We collaborate, we have First Saturdays and Bucket lists. We even have anomalies. Go ahead and click – you know you want to. Join me as an Enlightened player – or fight me on the streets of Pretoria and Johannesburg in the Resistance. Either way – if you ignore this your life will be lacking.
